FreeEliza: A Father's Rights Organization rally in Topeka, Kansas, January 27th, 2020. Paul Allen, and those impacted by the wrongful termination of his natural, and legal right to parent his own child, Eliza, were honorary speakers, INCLUDING THE FAMILY OF THE MOTHER.
Sharon Brandon, Media and Event Coordinator of FreeEliza, presents a heartfelt poem written about Paul Allen's case, and his fight to protect his natural, and legal, right to parent his OWN child, Eliza Lea Michelle.
Here we are today, at this demonstration
To get to this point took much preparation
Birth fathers raising children, there should be preservation
Being a father to Eliza is Paul’s true motivation
With the child’s birth mother, there was a separation
She cut off all contact, there was no communication
The way she treated my friend, well, that’s pure manipulation
While pregnant, she taunted, it’s not your relation
She induced labor early, no 40-week gestation
Baby Eliza, their child, what a beautiful creation
She gave Eliza to strangers, with no reservation
Paul’s wishes ignored, with no consideration
Can you imagine yourself in this sad situation?
Tests proved he was her father, it was pure validation
Now he had to fight the adoption association
Greedy lawyers, selling babies, with no hesitation
They subpoenaed his records, searching for information
Allegations made against him were pure fabrication
An unwed father being unfit, what a terrible classification
This stigma affects millions, all across our nation
To say that he’ll fail, it’s just pure speculation
Awaiting the trial, there was no accommodation
He traveled hundreds of miles, for a 2-hour visitation
Spending time with his child under full observation
He wasn’t a criminal, but was put on probation
Put yourself in his shoes, can you imagine the frustration?
On pins and needles, while courts made determinations
False testimony given, with untrue implications
When he heard the verdict…total devastation
Terminating his rights with pure annihilation
Losing Eliza was not his expectation
The pain wrecking his heart, what a horrible sensation
For Paul’s legal rights, they had no consideration
Paul wants his child; can’t you sense his desperation?
Of his parental rights, there should be a restoration
We have hope for the future, with new representation
Laws are written, for a reason, not for your interpretation
